Storms fooled us: Shreyas Iyer
For Delhi Daredevils, sitting at the bottom of the league table has become a habit that can't be broken anytime soon. Fans and critics' opinion vary about their poor performance. In past seasons, we have seen the efforts of star players like Sehwag, De Villiers, Pietersen etc. going in vain. It seems like the team is just not meant to break the jinx of making a cheap IPL exit every single season.
The latest edition is just a copy of the past few IPL seasons. There are many unanswered questions and doubts that are hovering over the decision makers of the franchise. In order to understand the situation better we interviewed the captain of Delhi Daredevils Shreyas Iyer.
The frontman is having a great season as far as his individual performance is concerned. But it seems he is not very pleased with the way Delhi is performing as a team. The right handed batsman didn't point out any player specifically except for bowler Avesh Khan who has been conceding runs at a rate which can't be called economic in any way.
Iyer emphasized over the importance of net practice and highlighted that "Inadequate training sessions can be seen as one of the key factors behind Delhi's disappointing performance." In addition to this, he blamed Indian Meteorological Department for making false predictions about the storms in Delhi-NCR.
"We couldn't practice at Feroz Shah Kotla due to warnings about the thunder storms in the capital. Except for Pant and myself, I'm not sure about the readiness of the team for the fixture ahead." Iyer stated.
Today, Delhi will play the mighty Sunrisers Hyderabad who are sitting at the top of the league table.
