Know your team: Vancouver Knights

Five teams representing the Canadian cities Edmonton Royals, Montreal Tigers, Toronto Nationals, Vancouver Knights and Winnipeg Hawks will be joined by Cricket West Indies representative team in the maiden edition of Global T20 Canada. The league is scheduled to start with the match between Toronto Nationals and Vancouver Knights.

Vancouver Knights Squad:

Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Evin Lewis, Tim Southee, Chadwick Walton, Fawad Ahmed, Babar Hayat, Sheldon Cottrell, Saad Bin Zafar, Ruvindu Gunasekera, Srimantha Wijeratne, Kamau Leverock, Steven Jacobs, Salman Nazar, Rassie van der Dussen, Jeremy Gordon

Strength: Vancouver Knights' squad is decorated with the sloggers like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell, Evin Lewis and Chadwick Walton. The opposition will have to be on their toes to avoid the towering hits by these stars. Ability to post a big total on the scorecard is undoubtedly the biggest strength of this side.

Weakness: The team is considered to be deficient of a solid bowling attack. Among the known names, Kiwi fast bowler Tim Southee will spearhead Vancouver's bowling attack. But his poor performance in the recent edition of IPL is surely a point of concern for his side. Furthermore, West Indian bowler Sheldon Cotrell's not-so-impressive bowling stats might put Vancouver Knights at disadvantage.

X-Factor: West-Indian All-rounder Andre Russell's strike rate of 184.79 and 13 wickets in IPL 2018 are the good enough reasons to support his credibility. Russel's support will be crucial in all the departments of the game.

Player to Watch: From Vancouver's side, South African batsman Van der Dussen's remarkable average over 40 along with a decent strike rate of 128 in T20 makes him the one to watch.
