Hits and Flops Round 2 Match 3: Edmonton Royals Vs Winnipeg Hawks
Fidel Edwards (WH)
Edwards has been phenomenal since his induction into the Hawks bowling attack. He has troubled all batsmen with his speed and has been the bowler of the tournament so far. He took 4 for 19 yesterday and was instrumental in restricting the Royals to 141.
Lendl Simmons (WH)
He has been the top-scorer of the tournament so far but showed his prowess with the ball too yesterday. He got 2 for 18 with his gentle medium pace and those wickets included names like Kevin O’Brien and Afridi. Almost forgot to mention his 38 (retired hurt) with the bat!
David Warner (WH)
It took him 6 matches to hit his first 6 of the tournament and his first score of any substance (his first entry in our ‘Hit’ list too!). He scored 42 and his coming into some sort of a form will definitely boost the chances of the Hawks in the playoffs.
Kevin O’Brien (ER)
The Royals looked up to the experienced O’Brien to take them to the shores of safety after 4 wickets were down by the 13th over. But the burly Irishman failed to deliver the goods for his team as he was dismissed cheaply for 6.
Shahid Afridi (ER)
He had another forgettable match with the bat (scored only 2 runs) and with the ball (1-0-13-0).
