Hits and Flops Round 2 Match 2: Vancouver Knights Vs Toronto Nationals

While the Knights were ruthless, the Nationals slipped to the bottom of the leaderboard with another listless performance and another defeat. The Knights have leaped past the CWI B to become the new table-toppers of the tournament.

Here are our takes on the hits and flops from this match.

Andre Russell (VK)

He did not have to come out with the bat in hand but was phenomenal with the ball earlier. His dismissals of Devcich and Smith was instrumental in restricting the Nationals to a tiny total. His impressive figures read- 4-0-17-3.

Fawad Ahmed (VK)

The guile and accuracy of this experienced leggie were too much to handle for the Nationals batsmen in the middle overs and his double strikes (that included Pollard) in the 8th over derailed their progress.

Chadwick Walton (VK)

This seasoned Jamaican scored an unbeaten 54 off 36 balls to ensure his team cruised to an easy 8-wicket victory.

Anton Devcich (TN)

He started the tournament with a bang but has had a poor run ever since. After the openers were dismissed inside first 4 overs, he needed to forge a big partnership with Smith to bail his team out to safety. But, he could only score 1 before becoming a victim of the impressive Russell.

Kieron Pollard (TN)

The big Trinidadian just could not fire in this tournament with the bat.  His campaign ended when he was bowled beautifully by Fawad Ahmed for just 8 off 7 balls.
