GT20 Qualifier 2: Vancouver Knights Vs Winnipeg Hawks(Preview)
It’s a do-or-die match for both the teams and we expect to see another cliffhanger. The Knights got the better of the Hawks in their previous encounter in the 1st round but it’s an entirely different proposition tonight.
What may the fans expect in this match?
The big match players may come to the party
Warner has already announced his return to form with two serious contributions back to back. The “Universal Boss” seems to be relishing his new-found role of a sheet anchor but can change his gears any time. Russell has also excelled in whatever limited opportunities he got with the bat so far. But the Hawks will surely miss the 3-dimensional ability of their superstar, Dwayne Bravo, in this crucial match.
The Hawks have a slight edge in their batting
The knights have brilliant individual performers with the bat (Gayle, Russell, Walton) but the Hawks are peaking just at the right time as a collective batting unit. Warner, McDermott, Simmons, and Millar have all contributed to recent wins and form a fearsome batting line-up for the Hawks. Young Mark Deyal has also been amongst the runs of late.
The Knights will depend on their experienced bowlers
Though they were stunned by that Rutherford-onslaught the other day, the Knights bowlers (Southee, Cottrell, Fawad) will rely on their experience to bounce back on the D-day tonight.
The Cricnwin prediction
Considering the current form of their batters, we predict the Hawks to edge past the Knights and enter the finals on Sunday.
What are your predictions guys?
