GT20 Match 3: Toronto Nationals Vs Edmonton Royals(Preview)

Toss: Edmonton Royals have won the toss and have opted to field

GT20 is shaping up nicely and it’s Match 3 this evening at a much favourable Indian time of 9.30 PM. We will have a first look at the Edmonton Royals when they will lock horns this evening with the tournament favourite, the Toronto Nationals.

What can the fans expect from this match?

The “Afridi factor”

Shahid Afridi is the “Peter Pan of Cricket” who simply refuses to grow older and is vastly experienced in the T20 format. He captained Pakistan to World T20 victory in 2009 and will be more than eager to show the world that he still has a bit of cricket left in him. Also, he has a lot to do to lift the Royals as they will miss their marquee player Chris Lynn, owing to recent denial of NoC by the Cricket Australia.

Calypso flavour

Pollard, Sammy and Charles will add a formidable Calypso quotient to the Toronto Nationals with their experience and proven T20 credentials. In the under-rated Andre Fletcher, the Royals will have their own calypso flavour too.

Another ‘Devcich show ‘

Considering his pyrotechnics the other day, it won’t be a bad idea for the Toronto Nationals to promote Devcich to the top of the order.

The Cricnwin prediction

We predict a win for the Toronto Nationals for the simple reason that not enough strength is seen in the bowling attack of the Royals to counter the formidable batting of the opposition. Also, the absence of Lynn will surely hurt them.

What are your predictions guys?
