Global T20 Canada partners with Star Sports for broadcast

The inaugural edition of the much awaited Global T20 Canada will have its India broadcast on Star Sports and Hotstar. The rights have been bagged by the Star Sports Network for 5 editions and it is believed that the two entities have chalked out a solid plan to make sure the GT20 Canada strikes cords with the masses.

Speaking of the partnership, Prashant Mishra, Director - Business Strategy at GT20 Canada said, “Getting Star on board is a big victory for us. It has only grown the curiosity further for the league. We firmly believe that our property will grow much more and be appreciated with Star as partners who will help us strategise the path further.”

Prashant has played a significant role in striking the deal with Star Sports and feels it is a great partnership for both the parties which will eventually emerge as a milestone in the success of Global T20 Canada.

The GT20 Canada will showcase 22 matches over a period of 18 days, of which 11 matches will have a broadcast at the prime time of 20:30 hrs in India. GT20 Canada kick starts on 28th June in Toronto with 6 franchises and is the biggest cricket event in North America.
