Arguably the most successful Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni might no longer be leading the squad anymore, but for the Indian team, he is still the leader of the clan. Be it any newcomer or even the regular skipper Virat Kohli, when he is on the ground, everybody looks up to him for guidance.
After snatching away the chance of winning the first Asia cup from Bangladesh, Dhoni walked up to the Indian skipper for Asia Cup 2018 Rohit Sharma and asked him to let the youngest member of the squad Khaleel Ahmed hold the trophy. Dhoni's gesture won hearts as the picture of Ahmed holding the silverware went viral on the internet.
Khaleel Ahmed played a couple of matches against Afghanistan and Hong Kong in the tournament.
"Dhoni Bhai asked Rohit Sharma to let me hold the trophy. He gave me the trophy because I was the youngest member of the team and it was my debut series. It was a memorable experience for me, "Khaleel told TOI.
"When Dhoni Bhai and Rohit asked me to hold the trophy, I had no words. I became emotional and will never forget that moment," the young lad stated.
